Palliative Care Visit and Free Food Kit Distribution at Asha Bhavan, Thrikkakara

The NSS Units No. 251 and 252 of KMM College of Arts and Science, Thrikkakara, under Mahatma Gandhi University, successfully organized a Palliative Care Visit and Free Food Kit Distribution Programme at Asha Bhavan , Thrikkakara on January 10, 2026.

A total of 20 NSS volunteers actively participated in the programme. The volunteers spent half a day with the inmates, who are mentally challenged and differently abled individuals, engaging them in meaningful interactions. As part of the visit, the volunteers distributed essential food kits to support the daily needs of the inmates.

To create a joyful and inclusive environment, the NSS volunteers conducted dance sessions and simple games, encouraging participation and happiness among the inmates. These activities helped foster emotional connection, recreation, and a sense of belonging.

The visit provided the volunteers with a meaningful opportunity to understand the importance of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility, while also spreading joy and comfort among the residents. The programme was a deeply enriching experience for both the volunteers and the inmates, highlighting the role of youth in contributing positively to society through service and care.
